Knee-slapper of a regular house guest

More Notes on Visitors

Posted on August 12, 2022June 29, 2024 By stega

The year prior to the pandemic lockdown, we had a rash of visitors–a friend from my days at school in England (they are now married!), and Agent Smith’s sister and her kids came for a week that summer.

Then way back at the end of summer of 2019, not only did Agent Smith’s father visit, but my parents were here at the same time! Plus the week before my parents arrived we had another regular house guest (Agent Eric) staying with us.

During the visits many projects were completed, such as stripping down and cleaning the clothes washer, building the mini-wall, and the refinishing of my desk. Pedicures were also had, movies seen and many hands of Cribbage played.

A few months later the whole pandemic thing happened, and our only visitor was Agent Eric. He’d come out from Arizona for a week or two as a safe vacation. He and Agent Smith then worked on various projects out in the garage. (More on some of those projects soon…)

A handful of local friends made the journey up here during the pandemic for quick visits and to pick up useful things I was rehoming. We managed to give away a couple of Dyson vacuums, some virginal carpet square tiles that were originally for the studio building, and of course, a couple of toilet seats. We had multiple spare toilet seats because we now have bidet toilet seats in all but one of the bathrooms, and if you don’t know what a bidet seat is, hit up the interwebs. All I can say is they are life-changing!

Things are picking up a bit now that the craziness in the world has shifted. Earlier this month Agent Smith’s sister and her kids visited. Plus we may have visitors from afar possibly staying with us in September and October.

One final note: during the last two and a half years we have had one constant visitor…
