Once the floors had been refinished and the chimney column in the center of the great room was stripped of paint, it was time to make the room our own. I knew I wanted something different in terms of the paint colors, but it took quite a while to sort out the details.
I used the Sherwin-Williams ColorSnap app like I have done for each painting project here. This time things were a bit more complicated though, as S-W had discontinued their metallic paint line and I had to find an alternative. PPG has a line called Metallic Tones and so I picked up a quarter from the local Home Despot to test it out.
The best bit about the paint is that it really changes appearance based on the intensity and angle of lighting.
After the exterior painting in late 2018, our regular house painter saw to the trim in the foyer and great room. So it was now just a matter of getting on his schedule to finish off the room.
