Saturday I took part in an online birding event sponsored by the San Franciso Bird Observatory. It was a pretty straightforward thing: go out and take pictures of birds to add to a group album, as said group tried to get 100 different species. The time frame for the picture-taking was from midnight on Saturday to the end of that day.
So I went out with my camera and walked about and took pictures of many of our birds. I managed to capture 34 different species here at Purgatory. Sadly our Steller’s Jays, Cooper Hawks, nuthatches, chickadees and woodpeckers along with a few others were AWOL. Still, 34 species of bird documented in one day in one location is pretty awesome.

What is wrong with that turkey?
he had an itch….and he is very young and not very bright.
