Saturday I took part in an online birding event sponsored by the San Francisco Bird Observatory. It was pretty straightforward: go out and take pictures of birds to add to a group album, as said group tried to get 100 different species. The time frame for the picture-taking was from midnight to end of day Saturday. So I went outside with my camera and walked about and took pictures of our many birds–I managed to capture 34 different species here. Sadly, our Steller’s Jays, Cooper Hawks, nuthatches, chickadees, woodpeckers, and others were AWOL. Still, 34 species of bird documented in one day in one location is pretty awesome.

What is wrong with that turkey?
he had an itch….and he is very young and not very bright.
