The Deal with the Devil: Addendum

Posted on April 6, 2022June 17, 2024 By stega

When I mentioned in this series of posts that we got some dirt, I never included pictures of the before, during and after. So here are a few shots of what it looked like after the dirt arrived. Most of it was moved into the pit, but the work wasn’t completed because, well, county.

So the dirt sat there for a year, albeit with some hay mats to keep anything from eroding. When we didn’t hear anything from the county, we thought the devil had sorted the issue and we graded things per his instructions.

Here are shots showing how much we did. We traded off: I’d run Bambi or Giggles, while Agent Smith was in the other or sometimes he would use Tony. (For non-regular readers, the last pic is Tony.)

And finally, to review, here are two before shots where you can make out the full scale of the pit, and a shot of the current conditions. Eventually some of the flat space may even become a proper emergency vehicle turn around area, but that’s on hold with everything else.
