Yesterday was meant to be a day spent partly on road committee work (I’ll eventually explain what that means in another post) and crafting posts for this site. Seems a downed power line and some grass had other ideas.
We did pack our go-bags and get the boys in their carrier, but thankfully CalFire responded quickly and there was no major damage. One of our nearer neighbors (that’s their driveway in the lower left of the pics), where the fire was the worst, came very close to losing their house. Also for reference purposes: that’s our south pasture in all the foreground shots and the fire was on the hill just below, but we had the wind in our favor blowing steadily in from the north.
