One of the non-fun things we dealt with this past winter (most likely as a result of the driveway work) was a rat–not a huge city rat, more like a beefy mouse. Said rodent did a bit of damage to the couch that normally sits in the blue room. Thankfully my sewing skills came in handy and the issue was sorted.
