Almost two years ago, when I was off in Ohio helping tidy up my parents’ basement, I set aside a few things to have shipped out here for use. This included a couple of table lamps and several tables.
Here are pics of the lamps. I ditched the shades was they were very dusty and moldy, and just had the pretty porcelain and brass lamps shipped.
This past winter I finally did something with them. First I used a combination of Brasso and Bar Keepers Friend to clean them up. Here are some before and some progress shots.
Once they were all spiffy again, I added two cute feather ball shades I found on Amazon. I had to alter the harps with a bit of wire, as I wanted the bulbs to sit in the middle of the shades. Agent Smith found some pretty vintage-looking fabric-wrapped electric wire, so with that and some new sockets and plugs, he rewired both of them. I added some new bases with felt and they were soon ready for prime-time.
The results are stunning…but you will have to wait for the next posts to see them in action.
