Our weather station, which we installed shortly after moving in, had a few issues over the years–namely, birds loved to sit atop the rain gauge and uh…fill it up. It was an Ambient Weather WS-1400-IP and it served us well. A few years back the solar panel died and we replaced it, thus allowing it to continue service for a few more years, but lately it was becoming more and more unreliable.
So today (actually yesterday, as I’m going to schedule this post to go live in the morning), we received a replacement Tempest unit from WeatherFlow. It sure is fancy and the UI is especially nice. Agent Smith climbed up to the roof of the studio building and swapped the old for the new.
Now I just need to sort out why it’s not updating Wunderground…
