When we lived in SF, we had two couches in the living room. Agent Smith purchased them for his first place in SF before we moved to the house on Potrero Hill. They are super comfortable and, except for a bit of wear and tear (partly Tenar’s fault!), they are very nice.
Last year we considered replacing them with something new and fancier. We started looking online–well, really I started looking online. I spent several hours perusing Overstock, Wayfair, Restoration Hardware, Ethan Allen and many other retailers. Nothing in budget looked remotely interesting. The two options that did look interesting were way too pricey for a space we use a few times a week.
In the end, we found a much better option: we put our current couches on casters. This made them easy to move out of the way for better virtual reality fun. Next I’ll see about repairing the wee bit of damaged vinyl along the base of one of them.
