Purgatory

Contest Restart

Two years I was unsuccessful in finding a suitable name for our apatosaurus. Thus I’m restarting the contest!

Details: this is the first large dinosaur or sculpture of any sort we purchased for the ranch. It was purchased on auction from the estate of the late Carrie Fisher — via Profiles in History back in late 2017. It needs a name though, as it will soon be joined by a few other sculptures.

To enter all you have to do is leave a comment here, or on our Facebook page (for this post) with your suggested name(s), or you can email your suggestions to stega @ purgatory . org.

The nitty gritty details:

  • You can enter as many suggestions as you want, but if the same name is suggested twice, the first person to suggest a name gets the credit.
  • Which ever suggested name seems suitable (totally arbitrary I know) will be deemed the winning suggestion.
  • The person who suggested the winning name will receive their very own Purgatory Auto Works and Dinosaur Farm baseball cap or canvas tote bag as well as a few other fun items.
  • Lastly, please NO obvious Star Wars references.

Lastly, I’m currently looking to have this statue cleaned up/restored and repainted. I have a few leads but so far haven’t found anyone I’m super keen on yet. Thus if you know anyone who does this kind of work, let me know.
