Come and Visit!

Posted on March 24, 2016October 6, 2024 By stega

We now have a booking calendar so friends can “suggest” times they’d like to come and stay over for a night or two. It’s still in the beta stage but we’re looking for a couple people to test it out. It’s pretty simple–just click on the “Stay” link on the top menu on the website and put in your details and select some available dates.

And a bit about what visitors can expect…cough cough…hrmmmmm…

Here at Purgatory Auto Works and Dinosaur Farm one can experience the quiet solitude of the Mount Diablo range while enjoying the stunning views of San Jose and the San Francisco Bay. Things are quiet up here and visitors can spend time bird watching, hiking, taking a dip in the pool, relaxing with a book or if they feel inclined towards manual labor, assisting in various outdoor endeavors or with the assembly and maintenance of the race cars.

Purgatory is an excellent base from which to explore the Santa Clara Valley and areas further afield such Santa Cruz, San Francisco and the Oakland/Berkeley area, all about an hour’s drive. In addition, the outlet stores of Morgan Hill and the abundant garlic of Gilroy are 30 minutes south, with Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur just a bit further south. And lastly, for those who like to drive narrow winding roads, the Lick Observatory atop Mount Hamilton is nearby.

As for the practical stuff: yes we cook, no the boys won’t bite you as they’re generally kept away from the main areas of the house, and we have lots of clean towels.

And we would love to have visitors but we’re often bad about remembering to invite people. so consider this an open invitation to invite yourself for a visit. Once a booking is made and approved, we can fill you on how to get here.
