Shortly after the floors were done and the boys moved back into their place, I retouched the trees I painted on the walls a couple of years ago, when I took the space from barf-brown to sunny-yellow. I used the sponge technique I sort of perfected when I created the oak tree in the guest room. Layering several different colors onto the sponge instead of just a single shade produces a more interesting effect. Below are before and after shots of each tree.
I also found a small set of hanging shelves that look remarkably like a wee wooden swing. This allows me to get all the various treats up off the table in their space. As a bonus, I painted some leaves on the table top.
I’m pretty happy with the revamp, and the boys have yet to complain.
