Two years I was unsuccessful in finding a suitable name for our apatosaurus. Thus I’m restarting the contest!
Details: this is the first large dinosaur or sculpture of any sort we purchased for the ranch. It was purchased on auction from the estate of the late Carrie Fisher via Profiles in History (now Heritage Auctions) back in late 2017. It needs a name though, as it will soon be joined by a few other sculptures.
To enter all you have to do is leave a comment here, or on our Facebook page (for this post) with your suggested name(s), or you can email your suggestions to stega @ purgatory . org.
The nitty gritty details:
- You can enter as many suggestions as you want, but if the same name is suggested twice, the first person to suggest a name gets the credit.
- Which ever suggested name seems suitable (totally arbitrary I know) will be deemed the winning suggestion.
- The person who suggested the winning name will receive their very own Purgatory Auto Works and Dinosaur Farm baseball cap or canvas tote bag as well as a few other fun items.
- Lastly, please NO obvious Star Wars references.
Lastly, I’m currently looking to have this statue cleaned up/restored and repainted. I have a few leads but so far haven’t found anyone I’m super keen on yet. Thus if you know anyone who does this kind of work, let me know.
His name is clearly Abelard. Abelard Beaufort Seymour.
Darrell Lance Abbott, nickname Dimebag
I simply can’t decide so we’re going to try this one more time and let some sort of cosmic karmic decide.
