On November 17th of 2015 the finishing touches were completed to the replacement retaining wall. This included moving earth up to the top of the wall to get it a bit more level with the area up there. In addition concrete was poured at the corner sections where it turns to connect the sections together (first pic below).
In the end we built what we intended to: a durable replacement wall that will last through just about anything short of a catastrophic earthquake, and then it would probably be just fine with one of those but who knows.

And got things finished just in the nick of time. Three days after the last bit of concrete work was done, this is what it looked like up here as the winter rains arrived in force (last pic).
