While the teak repairs were happening, another guy who specializes in repairing and installing the type of flooring we have in the blue room and my office came out to repair those spaces. Technically, though, they weren’t “repairs,” as it wasn’t damage we wanted to address, but the fact that we didn’t want holes where there were once working furnace ducts. As mentioned a few posts back, thanks to a friend in Chicago and Craigslist, I now had plenty of fresh boards, so it took the guy just over a day to make all the holes go away.
Then it was just a matter of pushing things back to where they belong, and my office was once again back to normal which, considering what was in store the following week and beyond, was a very good thing.
