Once I got back from the epic trip to Ohio, I arranged with our favorite painter to see to the new structure. (Let’s be honest here, he’s the only person I trust to paint stuff at this point.) He had an opening at the end of November, so we got in a bit more of the “regular” paint that covers the house and studio building and then some nice bright white. Then he got to work.
He painted the outside to match the house/studio building, which meant tan walls and cheery green trim. Then the inside was painted bright white. One of the reasons I like our painter so much is they he is very meticulous. Case in point, he didn’t like how the satin green paint he used looked when it dried. He complained that it showed smudges too easily, so he got the same color in gloss and repainted the trim.
Here’s what I mean. The image on the left: satin paint. The image on the right: gloss paint. The marks on the left image were made just by passing finger tips across the dried paint.
And here’s some shots of the fully-painted shed. You probably noticed right away that the interior studs aren’t white. There’s a reason for that…
