We do not live in a typical suburban environment. We have space. What human neighbors we do have live far enough away that we have to yell really, really loudly, or call them up on the phone if we need to talk to them.
We do, however, have a lot of critters who share our space. Here are some of the recent critters we have found in the house, all of whom were deposited outside. We do permit some spiders to remain in the house–the ones that set up shop behind the toilets or under the kitchen cabinets–as they provide a lovely form of pest control. The spiders shown below are outdoorsy types.
Sporadic and new readers to this site may not know that I take pictures of the wildlife that shows up here and post the better shots over at stega.org. Here’s a few semi-recent samples.
Plus occasionally I setup the trail cams to see what is out and about. The results are often amusing.
But wait, there’s more! Sometimes we get woodpeckers that use our chimney as an amplifier….
