I designed some signs that are now posted on the decorative fence along the west side of the driveway, within the house yard. They say “Quail Crossing,” and they’re super cute. They’re also accurate: the quail cross there a lot.
These are just the latest in a long line of signs around here. Back in 2016, I replaced the tired old fire extinguisher plaque outside my office with a new fire hydrant sign (plus a few others, including a liquid manure one). In 2017 our logo finally made it to the front gate, thanks to BuildASign, along with address signs for us and our nearest neighbors. In 2018 we teamed up with neighbors to put up No Dumping and Private Road signs along the road, and in 2021 I added a sign at the start of the road –which unfortunately someone ran over earlier this year and before I reclaimed it, someone else took it. When the emergency access road came along, I made signs for the end gates. In 2023 a friend surprised us with an epic Purgatoire Dr street sign, and lost drivers who couldn’t take the fork in the road got signage of their very own, including a portable one mounted on an old race car wheel. Some of the road signs have needed graffiti cleaned off, and the updated address sign had to wait until the fence holding it was repaired after the cows got to it.
