Purgatory is in California and both ends of the state are currently burning, plus there are some fires in the Central Valley. The comprehensive map can be found here.
It has created some unusual weather here at the ranch as a ton of smoke has moved several hundred miles southward to fill the valley below us.
Here’s a shot from earlier this week with absolutely no processing: that’s a large smoke cloud above us and another filling the valley floor. We exist in this tiny band much of the time except when the winds push eastward and everything swells up and over us.
