It’s not only birds that unwittingly run into glass here–humans sometimes fail to notice screen doors. This is a particular problem in Agent Smith’s office.
Turns out I had some inkjet-printable magnetic stuff squirreled away. Purchased long ago at Fry’s (once a Bay Area institution, but closed down a little over two years ago), the packet sat with all my other printer media for years and years.
I found a pretty rainbow-y picture, printed that onto the media and then used my Cricut to cut more bird silhouettes. It was a simple matter of just making sure I had matching pairs. The only down side though is the magnetic material is not very strong and thus keeping two mirrored bird shapes adhered on each side of the screen proved problematic. Thankfully, I have a stash of small magnets and a hot glue gun, so it was a simple matter of adding extra attracting measures. The end results now keep people from trying to walk through screens–always a good thing.
