Last August a friend surprised us with something he found on eBay. It was a sign of true epicness.
We knew where we wanted to put it, but we needed some sort of mounting bracket to get it installed. After a bit of research I ordered a ’24″ Wing Bracket for Street Signs’ from SafetySigns.com. Once it arrived, we were able to repurpose the old stunted telephone pole out near the end of our driveway.
But we weren’t done there. Fast forward to this month–we updated the big sign with the three addresses accessed by the right fork, which is the start of our driveway. One of the neighbors is no longer a bachelor! So a couple of weeks ago I ordered an updated version of that sign (plus one for where the easement said neighbors use, then forks off from our driveway a bit further up from the big sign), but that will not be put up until I fix the fence that some errant cows broke.
I went for a fresh look with the new signs, echoing the blues in our ranch logo.
Below is a screengrab from Google Streetview, dating back to when the POs lived here. They apparently “named” the driveway after their only child. Their world completely revolved around their kid, so much so that one of the driving factors for them to sell this place was so they could follow their kid to college somewhere in the midwest.
And then, a shot of how it is as of writing this post.
