Last week I took my giant ceramic Hello Kitty to the new house, and now it sits proudly in the butler’s pantry.
I also discovered that one of the blinds in the Great Room is broken, which is very annoying as it was raised when we looked at the house and no mention of it was made. So I called 3 Day Blinds to see about getting it repaired, which sadly is impossible since it’s so old. Not a terrible thing though, and the technicians who came out removed the broken one and left the others, so we can enjoy our view.
The previous owners were very adamant that the old window dressings not stay with the house. We were just fine with that as they weren’t really to our taste, but they did a crappy job of removing them and left staples and nails scattered across the tops of all the windows. Once we settle in, we will work on proper “window treatments,” but that’s not a high priority right now. Getting the septic sorted–now that’s something that must happen.
